April 2024 - Antonio has had several procedures and ops, recently and is awaiting further ones. We wish him a speedy recovery from them all. He is doing a good job at being the Speaker's Secretary and we all appreciate that.
April 2024 - We also remember our lovely President Sheila Bolton who is unable to attend our meetings. She is well looked after by her lovely, caring family and a team of carers. She still has her smile - most important. Good days, Sheila!
April 2024 - We have fond memories of Joy Round - a past President who was a member for many years. She is now in a care home having palliative care. It is hard to believe she is not a member, now. She was kind, caring and had an eye over all other members.
These two wonderful ladies are our oldest members. Mid nineties for both of them. Amazing women. Both consider themselves lucky to have had wonderful husbands and lives. Barbara has supported the Association by taking on all of the jobs (Treasurer, Secretary, Social Committee Chair) including her last one of being President for 3 years - her best friend Hilda, enjoying each others company! Aren't we lucky to have such members? Hugs to both of them! ............................................................................................................................................
It is with great sadness that we hear of the death of Mary B. Her loss will be felt by the Association, not only for her friendship and strong presence but for her hard work with the Committee and her post as Membership Secretary. Our love goes to her husband, Rob and to her family.
Kathy would like to thank Margaret and the WRTA for her lovely flowers.
Sheila on leaving her house to take a lift to WRTA with Margaret, fell and broke her hip. We send her our love and sincere wishes for a speedy recovery.

Many of us will have joined because of Dorothy. She will be a hole in our Association and will be sadly missed. Dorothy Sheath, along with her late husband, Alan, were regular attenders and enjoyed their time with us all. Many of us will remember their smiling faces and kind, caring personalities. They will be sadly missed.
SAD NEWS - WALSALL ENTERPRISE NARROWBOAT
It is with great sadness that I am contacting you to let you know that our skipper Gerry passed away last week after an operation in Russell’s Hall hospital. We are all deeply shocked because this is a great loss to our Trust and to us individually because he was such a lovely man and a good friend. He was always the life & soul of our boat trips and brightened up the most dreary day. He had volunteered on the Enterprise for 30 years. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but we thought you would appreciate knowing. We hope you are well and still coping with the present restrictions, although it does look a bit hopeful that things will gradually improve. We will have to wait until social distancing rules are lifted before we can run Enterprise trips again. So we are not making any definite plans at the moment but will be in touch when we have some news.
I know many of you, who have been on the narrowboat trips over the years have appreciated Gerry and his ability to send us home with a smile on our faces. He will be sadly missed.
